Sonic Universe 75 Half Variant by herms85
Sonic Universe 75 Half Variant
Hey guys! Here's ANOTHER of the variants for SU75, this time drawn by jongraywb and inked by Jim Amash. This was actually the ".5" Variant cover, as the final art was placed on top of the main Patrick Spaziante cover to show Eggman ripping through it! Hope you guys dig!

Pencils: jongraywb
Inks: Jim Amash
Colors: herms85

Published by Archie Comics.

ALSO: Last call for questions for tomorrow's episode of "Sonic Sez!" If you've ever wanted to know anything about coloring the Sonic/Mega Man comics - or anything about me I guess, too - be sure to ask it in this journal entry: herms85.deviantart.com/journal…

Thanks everyone!

Sonic Universe 75 Variant
Hey guys! Here's one of the (many) variant covers to Sonic Universe issue 75! This one is drawn by EvanStanley and inked by Jim Amash - a really cool look at characters and storylines that had been ongoing in the last year in Sonic Universe and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Pencils: EvanStanley
Inks: Jim Amash
Colors: herms85

Published by Archie Comics.

I also wanted to mention that I will be appearing on the 'Sonic Sez' podcast this Saturday, 3/14, and am currently gathering questions for the show! So if there's ever anything you wanted to know about the colorful side of Sonic/Mega Man comics (or just anything about li'l ol' me), then please feel free to ask it in THIS journal entry: herms85.deviantart.com/journal…

I also wanted to give a big THANK YOU to IvyBeth who gifted me with a 12-month Premium sub today. That is awesome and I VERY much appreciate it! Thanks IvyBeth!

Inks to Colors - Banjo and Kazooie by herms85
Inks to Colors - Banjo and Kazooie
So... I was a Nintendo kid growing up and am definitely a Nintendo adult now - but in my tweens and teens I was pretty hardcore PlayStation with its JRPGs and whatnot. I technically missed out on Banjo Kazooie - a great regret, as the couple times I played the first one at a younger cousin's house I DID really enjoy it. Regrettably I sold my N64 a couple years back - so now that wait is on for an N64 capable Retron! :D

This art is available for purchase! Original pencil and ink drawing on 8.5x11 inch cardstock, along with 8.5x11 inch print of the finished colors. $25 USD. Shipping within the US is included. Shipping outside the US please include additional $10 USD. If interested please contact me via Note or eMail (mattherms@hotmail.com) Thanks!!

Inks to Colors - Crash Bandicoot
So I didn't get a PlayStation until I was 12, around the time Final Fantasy VII came out. FF7 blew my mind in the first five minutes with incredible graphics (those backgrounds, AT LEAST, still hold up) and a string of curse words from Barret. (Cursing was very new and exciting to 12-year-old me.)

BUT, I had played PS1 a few times at my local Target. Remember those game demo stations? They still have 'em but they seem somehow less magical now when you're almost in your 30s. But I remember being GLUED to the PS1 during a Target trip - watching others play or playing myself. Toshinden or - my favorite - Crash Bandicoot.

Still miss this mascot. I know he's not technically the FACE of PlayStation, but for my generation he WAS and it'd be nice to see him come around again.

Hello mr. Herms. I have seen your coloration of Sonic Boom #5, which have made me ponder on what your inspiration was for giving the villagers their unique coloration which differ from the ones presented in the television show.
